SCASD Delta Program Students Tour the Stone Valley Forest

 

State College Area School District Delta Program students received a guided tour of the Stone Valley Forest on October 18th, 2006. Forester, Brent Harding, met the group at Lake Perez and initiated an half day excursion that focused on hardwood silviculture and conifer plantations. Highlights for the Delta Program students included deer exclusion fencing and artificial conifer plantation establishment.

A SCASD Delta Program student tour of the Stone Valley Forest is a semiannual event. Tours can be scheduled by contacting the Penn State Forestland Management Office at 814-865-6272 or by e-mail psuforestmgmt@psu.edu .
