Office Hand Planting Treatment. Crews are contracted to artificially
regenerate stands by planting 2 year old conifer bare root seedlings
on a 6' x 6', 8' x 8' or 10' x 10' spacing. Planted species consist
of Red Pine, Japanese Larch, and Pitlolly Pine. |

Office Mowing Treatment. A large four-wheel-drive tractor with a very
aggressive brush hog is contracted to mow vegetation down to a predetermined
height. The purpose of this treatment is to either control competing
vegetation in pine plantation stands prior to planting or eliminate
poor stem quality attributed to whitetail deer browse in cutover mixed
hardwood stands prior to deer fencing. |

Office Herbicide Application Treatment. Chemical herbicide can be
applied to undesirable vegetation by helicopter, tracked vehicle,
or backpack sprayer depending on the targeted species, level of desired
control, and stand's characteristics. The herbicide treatment may
either be for stand preparation prior to a regeneration treatment
or as stand release following an artificial regeneration treatment. |
