Wildlife & Fisheries

A variety of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates inhabit properly managed forests. Penn State Forestlands are no exception.

Wildlife existing within our forest boundaries can be found in habitats ranging from:

Predominately undisturbed riparian buffers shaded by the canopies of mature trees
	Successfully regenerated even age stands secured by the dense stems of desirable saplings
Former agricultural fields evolved into wetland swamps occupied by standing dead snags and understory thickets
