Job Opportunities

The Penn State Forestland Management Office is an excellent venue for forestry students to obtain relevant hands on experience in forest management. Since 1989 thirty-eight students have been employed through the Penn State Forestland Management Office. Over 72% of those students have become professional foresters. An employee of the Penn State Forestland Management Office can expect to be exposed to state of the art GIS, GPS and electronic data collection integrated with progressive 21st century forest management techniques.

Employment opportunities can exist year round, but the greatest potential exists during the summer months. Contact our office at psuforestmgmt@psu.edu or 814-865-6272 to inquire about job opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Penn State Forestland Management Office offers individuals or groups the opportunity to participate in volunteer projects that will enhance our Forests. These projects can range from firewood cutting to roadside cleanup to simply spending a day with one of our staff while they perform their responsibilities. We believe that any exposure to an active forest is a valuable learning experience. Contact our office at psuforestmgmt@psu.edu or 814-865-6272 to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
